MPPSC-2015: Women bag 10 out of 19 posts of deputy collectors

Indore: As many as 147 women candidates secured jobs in different government departments in the state through state civil service examination-2015, results of which was announced last week. A closer look at the result list revealed that more number of seats than reserved for women was clinched by the fair sex.

As many as 410 seats were up for grab in state civil service exam. On Thursday, the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC) had announced the results and also uploaded the selection list, post-wise, on its website.

Of the total 410 seats, 70 were reserved for women candidates. But women candidates clinched 77 more seats than reserved for them. The best performance by the fair sex was for the post of deputy collector. Out of 19 vacancies, women candidates clinched 10.


Among the merit, three women candidates were among the toppers including Ankita Tripahti, Visha Vadhwani, Bharati Devi Mishra. An alumnus of SGSITS and a resident of Bhopal, Ankita topped the exams with scoring 1066 out of 1575 marks.

The final results of exam-2015 which were announced on Friday carried information on 408 candidates. The MPPSC could not declare names of two selected candidates due to court cases. The prelims and main exam for posts including additional collector, DSP, CMO, excise officer, commercial tax officer, etc were held in 2016.
